Storyline: Jeffrey Dean Morgan stars in this new Horror Movie as "Clyde". It's a theme we are familiar with: a person getting possessed. In this case, it's because a ghost is trapped in an antique box and then gets released by a young girl. This young girl is named "Em" and is played by upcoming superstar Natasha Calis. Em, who is Clyde's daughter, gets obsessed by this antique box. Before she realises it, she gets possessed by an entity / demon / ghost. Clyde, as a divorced father, tries to protect his daughter from this unknown danger consuming their lives.

Movie Review: The Possession

An exciting new Horror Movie!

Jeffrey Dean Morgan stars in this new Horror Movie as “Clyde”. It’s a theme we are familiar with: a person getting possessed. In this case, it’s because a ghost is trapped in an antique box and then gets released by a young girl. This young girl is named “Em” and is played by upcoming superstar Natasha Calis. Em, who is Clyde’s daughter, gets obsessed by this antique box. Before she realises it, she gets possessed by an entity / demon / ghost. Clyde, as a divorced father, tries to protect his daughter from this unknown danger consuming their lives.

I really feel that IMDB’s rating is too low ( 5.8 ). The movie was scary, exciting and although not very original, a good one. Well-acted and nice build up. So… Why do 15 000 + people rate it so low? My guess is a combination of relatively poor special effects and the lack of originality. It’s a Movie on its own, but we have all seen it before. The Grudge / The Ring styled special effects aren’t too good either. Maybe I was in a very good mood when I watched The Possession, but I feel 6.9 is a more appropriate rating.

When watching The Possession I noticed that several details are worked out really well. The character development of a possessed girl was impressive and very well acted. The struggling Clyde, who gets blamed for taking poor care of his daughter, provides a nice depth to the entire story. A definite one to watch for Horror fans and a must see for those of you who don’t get scared too easily!
