When first watching this movie I have to say I was disappointed. I expected a lot from it after seeing ‘Mirror Mirror’.  Snow White and the Huntsman begins by showing the King falling in love with a beautiful woman played by ‘Charlize Theron’. People familiar with the Snow White story will not be amazed by the basic storyline, however it does has some twists and variation to the original story. I won’t go into them to avoid giving out spoiler alerts, but it was a refreshing interpretation on the classic fairtytale.

Soon after Snow White flees from the castle she meets the seven Dwarves and the cinematics become really beautiful. The forrest, the creatures the characters, it all look really really well. To me though, this wasn’t quite enough to keep me focussed on the story. It all moves really slow, even though the dwarves are quite funny and realistic. The role of The Huntsman is smaller than the title seems to suggest. Although ‘Chris Hemsworth’ puts in a solid acting performance, you never get quite that bond with him as you would like. His motives are vague, but it is clear that he sees something in Snow White and is willing to fight for her.

Towards the end the action finally rises and it felt good to have an epic conclusion to the story and the movie alltogether. It is never a pain to watch to Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron and the latter showed again that she is a very capable actress. The cast was good and they saved the weakish plot. All in all, it was a nice movie to watch on a lazy evening. I just hoped for a little more action :-).
